At HearBear, our story is built on experience, empathy, and the belief that everyone deserves to hear and communicate with confidence. We are an independent Doctor of Audiology–led hearing and speech clinic in Surrey, providing compassionate, evidence-based care for children, adults, and families across the Fraser Valley.

Our cheerful bear mascot was created to make hearing and speech care feel welcoming—especially for children visiting us for the first time. It reflects the approachable, supportive atmosphere we strive to create at HearBear, where every individual feels at ease from the moment they walk in.

Chief Audiologist

Akash Juneja, Au.D.

Akash Juneja, Au.D. is a dedicated and highly experienced Audiologist in Surrey, BC in Fraser Valley with over 15 years of clinical and academic expertise in the field of Audiology. He holds a Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree, as well as a Master’s in Audiology. He is registered as an Audiologist and Hearing Instrument Practitioner and holds certifications in Cerumen Management and Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT).

Akash brings a wealth of clinical experience, with a strong focus on both pediatric and geriatric populations. His professional background spans diverse healthcare settings, including his current appointments as a Clinical Audiologist with the Fraser Health Authority and at HearBear.

Previously, Akash served in senior clinical roles at leading healthcare institutions such as the National University Health System and Singapore General Hospital. In addition to his clinical accomplishments, he has played an instrumental role in developing audiology training programs and mentoring hearing care professionals. He has also led several initiatives aimed at advancing hearing aid technology and improving service delivery. His dedication to enhancing patient care is complemented by his commitment to professional education, having delivered training and workshops across Southeast Asia on best practices in audiological assessment and intervention.

Chief Speech-Language Pathologist

Gargi Singh, MSLP

Gargi Singh is an experienced speech-language pathologist with a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and registration with CHCPBC. With over 15 years of experience supporting children and families, she is committed to making communication accessible, meaningful, and enjoyable. Gargi empowers children to develop essential skills for connecting with others, expressing themselves confidently, and thriving in their environments.

Gargi takes a warm, family-centred approach, working collaboratively with caregivers to create supportive, individualized therapy environments that enable every child to reach their full potential. Her areas of expertise include speech sound and phonological disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, language delays and disorders, motor speech disorders, stuttering, learning disabilities, and the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

Gargi’s therapy approach is play-based, strengths-oriented, and individualized to each child’s unique learning style. She has held diverse professional roles, including Speech-Language Pathologist and Therapy Head, where she led interdisciplinary teams across various settings in Singapore. In Canada, she has worked as an SLP with the Public Health Unit in Kamloops and currently serves with the Langley School District. She is also registered as Autism service provider with RASP.

Families appreciate Gargi’s compassionate, collaborative approach and her steadfast belief that communication is a right—not a privilege.
